DJT’s insanity is making me feel like I’m living in some kind of ultimate Candid Camera episode (for you younger people, Candid Camera was Punkd’ before Punk’d, and for you even younger people, just Google it).
The times they are 'a crazy (apologies to Bob Dylan).
But there might be light at
the end of the tunnel yet.
Today my Representative
in the House, Austin Scott, came out vocally against Trump’s threat the level Iran and his recent A.I
generated meme rendering himself as some kind of healing flagged-draped Jesus
figure. My local news station, WMAZ, reported: “A Central Georgia
congressman criticized a pair of President Donald Trump's recent social media
posts at a House Rules committee meeting on Tuesday. ‘I wish I could say this
in a private conversation, but I can’t. So I do want to say it: the Easter
Sunday post about annihilating a civilization is not OK. It’s not,’ Rep. Austin
Scott said. Scott continued: ‘And
posting a picture portraying yourself as Jesus is not OK. And so I would just
advise all of the people of the White House that the fear of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom, and if you read Proverbs, you would know that, and
Galatians would caution you that God will not be mocked."
Rep. Scott has been MIA from holding Town Halls for years. Constituents have begged and pleaded for Rep. Scott to hold a Town Hall. He has refused. He
tows the party line with Trump on every single issue.
American citizens being killed by ICE on the streets? Crickets from Scott.
Trump destroying
agencies that protect working Americans? Crickets from Scott.
Trump tearing down the
East Wing? Crickets from Scott.
Trump starting a war
with Iran that has made us less safe, less economically secure, and less respected
on the world stage? Crickets from Scott.
Children being separated from their parents in privately run
detention centers where there is no oversight? Crickets from Scott.
The massive cover-up of the Epstein files? Crickets from Scott.
Bombing civilian boats in the middle of international waters? Crickets from Scott.
But Trump depicting himself as Jesus? STOP THE ENGINES,
SCOTTY! Now Austin Scott wants to offer an opinion? Get out of here, dude. THAT
was your red line?
I have phoned Scott’s office weekly for the past year and his staffers’ answers to my questions are basically, “I haven’t spoken to the Congressman about that, but I will pass on your concerns.” And I never hear back. But now November elections are sneaking up on us and Scott is feeling the ire that Trump’s Jesus depiction and his disparaging comments about Pope Leo have elicited from red, rural voters. Not to mention the consequences of the war in Iran: farmers who are paying 52% more for fertilizer and working Americans who are paying almost $4.00 a gallon for gasoline. The price hikes on fertilizer and gasoline prices are going to increase the costs of already insanely priced groceries, so buckle up Billy Bob and Peggy Sue.
By the way, it appears that Trump threatening to wipe out an entire country and culture is still okay with self- professing "Christians" like Billy Bob and Peggy Sue. They only care when issues affect THEIR lives and pocketbooks.
All of this to ask if Scott is maybe starting to unhitch his wagon from the
Orange god and his leadership incompetence? If so, it’s too late, Rep. Scott. Voters in Georgia have got your number. The informed ones anyway.
